Born in Braintree, Essex, England. English mother, Italian Scottish father. Studied at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, Wiltshire and Hornsey School of Art, London. Lived and worked in London, teaching art initially in a variety of schools from progressive to comprehensive and from 1974, taught art in adult education, finally taking early retirement from the post of Senior Lecturer and acting Head of department in 1990. As well as painting has studied and made ceramics, sculpture and jewellery. Also studied etching with Peter Freeth R.A. and taken commissions for paintings, prints, graphics and craft magazines. First visited Ronda in 1983 then again in 1989 and regularly from then on. Finally purchasing a house outside Ronda in 1994. Founder member 'La Fuente', Ronda, Spain - a group of International artists working in Andalucia. Until 2009 dividing life and work between La Indiana, Ronda and London. In 2009 moved from London to Wivenhoe, Essex.
